Jennifer Smith-Borish is an adjunct associate professor in the School of Dance and the Ira Brind School of Theater Arts at UArts. 

Biography

Jennifer Smith-Borish began her dance training in her hometown of Manahawkin, New Jersey. She attended University of North Carolina, School of the Arts. Smith-Borish graduated a year early to begin her professional career with Pennsylvania Ballet (now Philadelphia Ballet) in 1993. She performed numerous principal roles during her 12 years with the company.

After retiring from Pennsylvania Ballet, Smith-Borish was hired by BalletX as ballet mistress and worked with choreographers such as Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Matthew Neenan, rehearsing the company for a number of their performances.

Smith-Borish has been principal teacher at Philadelphia Dance Academy for 14 years. This is her ninth year as a member of the UArts faculty, teaching ballet for the Ira Brind School of Theater Arts and the School of Dance.
