Shannon Ryan BFA ’18 was officially named the best junior-year illustration major in the U.S.

Her work was chosen for the annual $10,000 Zankel Award Scholarship by the Society of Illustrators, the top organization for professional illustrators, from among submissions from colleges across the United States.

As an indication of the level of talent in UArts' Illustration students and their faculty, Lizzy O'Donnell ’17 won the Zankel scholarship the previous year, and James Firnhaber ’16 was the runner-up the year before that.
