Music - Instrumental Performance (BM)

Dallas is the lead trumpet player in the nationally-recognized "Z" Big Band, having performed with the ensemble when it took first place at the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival in April of 2017.

The prestigious Monterey Jazz Festival is the longest-running jazz festival in the world. In September of 2017, the “Z” big band tied for first place in the College Big Band Division defeating some schools with ten times the number of students.

“Dallas is an extraordinary trumpet player with a great sound and excellent musicianship skills,” says University of the Arts School of Music Director, Micah Jones. Adding, “After two years of being a solid section player in the ‘Z’ Big Band, he has developed into a fine lead trumpet player.  He is definitely someone that all of the students can look to for guidance and leadership here at UArts.”
