Residence Hall Move Out/Closing

To help you and your student prepare for finishing the semester and moving out of their residence hall, review this webpage for details about the move-out process.

Note: Residence halls close on Friday, May 13, at 5 p.m. All residents who are not graduating or participating in the graduation ceremony must vacate their residences by that date and time. All their items must be removed from the apartment, and they must clean the space and return their room and mail keys. Students who are participating in Commencement on Thursday, May 19, will be granted an extension to housing and may vacate their residence hall on Friday, May 20, by 3 p.m. Resident assistants will host floor meetings to go over all the important details about moving out of residence halls during the first week of May.

Moving carts will be available to use to assist with the move-out process, and there will be large dumpsters available at select campus locations to dispose of any extra waste. Parking will be available at Juniper, Spruce and Furness halls from May 6 to 13 for the ease of loading your vehicle with your student’s items. If you and your student do not wish to keep any furniture you brought (such as a table, a futon, etc.), those items may not be disposed of in the dumpsters. Instead, make arrangements to remove them from campus and donate, sell or dispose of them elsewhere.

For more information about closing, your student may reach out to their resident assistant or email reslife@uarts.edu.

UArtist Day of Giving 2022 Recap

UArtist Day of Giving 2022 wrapped up just over a month ago. We are proud to say that 76 individual parent donors joined the other 845 members of the UArts community and together gave over $253,000 to support students! Those gifts will have a real impact on UArts students and set them up for success as they continue to pursue their passions.

The School of Dance took home the UArtist Giving Day trophy and the first-place prize ($7,500 for student scholarships) with 140 donors. School of Art took home the second-place prize ($5,000 for student scholarships) with 103 donors. Finally, the Ira Brind School of Theater Arts took home the third-place prize ($2,500 for student scholarships) with 76 donors. If you are interested in seeing other results from the campaign, visit givecampus.com/o008t4

Thank you to all who participated by making a gift or helping to spread the word about the day. UArts’ community became part of the bigger picture and continues to help advancing human creativity. For those who opted to receive the UArtist socks (designed by current Illustration student Julia Buckley ’23), they are on the way—or you may have gotten them already!
