JOB TITLE: CIM Fellow, Part-Time
DEPARTMENT: The Center for Immersive Media
REPORTS TO: Director for Center for Immersive Media
Summary:
Technical digital media production assistant for the Center for Immersive Media.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operation of the center’s optical motion capture system
- Production of media assets for use in real time computer graphics interactive simulations
- Produce documentation of production methods and technologies in the facilities
- Communication and assistance with knowledge transfer with work study students
- Assistance with conducting workshops for students and faculty
- Assistance with organization and identifying maintenance needs of equipment and facilities

Education:
- BFA, BA or equivalent in fields related to digital arts.
Experience:
- 2-3 years of academic and hands-on experience providing familiarity with and ability to apply intermediate to advanced software and hardware applications related to virtual reality, game design, and interactive media.
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- General knowledge of the field of practice in digital media and interaction as it applies across multiple disciplines.
- Working knowledge of common software tools for production including image processing, 3D computer modeling, and real time interactive tools. Intermediate to advanced skills with Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Maya, and Unity game authoring engine is required.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, students and the public.
- Ability to work independently and identify potentially more effective methods of work operation
