Based in Collingswood, N.J., Fabian Brown is employed at Berlin Township School District as a certified teacher and is also co-founder of music production company, Illadel All-Stars LLC.

Professional Experience
Since graduation, I have been involved in several facets of the music industry. Currently, I am a live and studio musician, certified music educator K-12, and entrepreneur of my co-founded music production company, Illadel All Stars.

Servicing the Greater Philadelphia area, Illadel All-Stars is a production company whose goal is to create real music in the 21st century. At Illadel, we create world-class productions in the genres of jazz, soul, hip-hop, pop and Afro-Cuban. Weather it be in the studio of on the stage, Illadel All-Stars LLC is dedicated to creating an artistic legacy and immortalizing our artists.

The Berlin Township community is more than familiar with the quality of musicianship that has been coming out of their school district for nearly a decade. I direct the schools Music and Performance ensembles. With dozens of performances in a school year, these ensembles appear for school concerts, private and community events, as well as political and municipal organizations. I also developed a multimedia course that exposes the students to audio and video recording using industry standard technology.

I have worked as band leader, music producer, studio musician and a saxophonist for many groups. This allowed me to network and cultivate relationships with national r&b, hip-hop and Motown artists, including Jill Scott, the Roots, the Coasters and the Platters. My contacts have also allowed me to place local talent in venues like the World Cafe Live and the North Star as well as many private and public events in the Greater Philadelphia area. I have also been fortunate enough to be the musical director of many bands and recording artists composing and arranging the music for the instrumentalists.

University and Alumni Involvement
I have been invited to collaborate, produce and speak with various events that UArts puts on annually. I was asked to be on the panel for the Family and Alumni Weekend, participate in the Alumni Reunion, Alumni Career Panel, and the Alumni Student Dinner Chat.

Volunteer and Leadership roles
I volunteer on several committees throughout the year in the capacity of aligning entertainment with the committees goals and budget. I have participated in the Berlin Townships July 4th committee for the past four years. This 65th annual event has over 20,000 people in attendance. My responsibilities include soliciting community businesses to sponsor the event with financial contributions, organize entertainment for their parade and evening performances, and provide sound and lights for all bands, DJs and beauty pageant performances.

I am also on the Haddon Heights committee for summer events. Again, my responsibilities encompass a great deal of acquisition of talent for performances on several stages and providing lights, sound and staging for several events throughout the summer. I am also a partner in the township's 2nd annual Farmer's Market while taking care of marketing and advertisement along with performing and talent acquisition.

Personal Accomplishments
While attending the University of the Arts, I purchased my first home during my junior year. At this time, I started to work in the real estate market purchasing, renting and selling homes. After graduation, I was hired as a full-time music teacher for Berlin Township School District and have been employed there for a decade. While dabbling in real estate and teaching, I formed my first LLC and became a private music instructor teaching piano, drums and woodwind instruments. All along, I have been leading an original funk band that recorded a 10-song LP, was the music director and band arranger for a successful party band that has performed at private and public events and opened for national acts, and created my second LLC, Illadel All-Stars, a music production company that worked out of Larry Gold's Studio in Philadelphia.

I am a father a three and a stepfather of six. I have been happily married since 2006 and enjoy spending as much time with my family as I can. My wife and I recently bought into a franchise business in telecommunications and look forward to more success.

Letter of Interest
I believe having an alumni committee to help develop and implement ideas will keep alumni connected to the University and create a desire for potential students. We want students to speak highly of the University to assist in prospective student recruitment and what better way to keep students and alumni connected by bridging the gap between college and real life.

I would like to contribute my knowledge and experiences to focus on creating positive mentoring and professional development for current students. My experience lends to assisting in overall alumni engagements and events as well as being a positive role model for graduating students.

I'd like to thank you for your consideration of participating on this council.
