Celebrate our accomplished alumni with an awards reception and panel discussion, moderated by UArts’ new president Kerry Walk.
University of the Arts honors inspirational alumni through the following awards, presented during UArts Weekend. This year’s honorees include:
Jayson Musson ’02 (Photography): Distinguished Alumni Award
The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes the outstanding achievement, dedication, and accomplishments of a UArts graduate in a particular field of endeavor, whether in a chosen profession or an innovative approach to solving a problem. This individual embodies UArts’ mission to advance human creativity through their leadership and actions.
Loveis Wise ’18 (Illustration): Young Alumni Award
The Young Alumni Award recognizes a graduate within the preceding 20 years and demonstrates innovation, curiosity, and creativity in the pursuit of excellence in a particular field, whether in a profession; through formal volunteer activities unrelated to the school; or through a personal commitment to an issue, a project, or a cause.
Jeannine Cook ’05 (Communications), ’14 (Art Education): Alumni Service Award
The Alumni Service Award is presented for outstanding volunteer service, as demonstrated by strong loyalty; exceptional contributions of time and effort; and personal commitment to the advancement of an important issue, project or cause. (Note: This award is for service outside UArts. The Tom M. Miles BFA ’75 Award will continue to honor a UArts volunteer).
German Vazquez ’20 (Photography): Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Award
The DEIA Award honors a graduate who uses their creative voice to create change and advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in their community, city or beyond. Aligned with UArts’ DEIA Office, this award celebrates an individual committed to artistic integrity and inclusion who promotes self-expression and supports diversity in all its forms.
The Alumni Awards Reception takes place during UArts Weekend and is open to alumni, parents and families, students, and faculty and staff.
