To welcome you and your family to our community of artists, designers, performers and writers, we’ve created a series of events for you called Admit One.
During Admit One, you’ll meet current students, hear from faculty and alumni, and get to know your fellow incoming classmates.
Dates for spring 2022 Admit One and more information will be posted soon.
In the meantime, register for a virtual or in-person visit campus visit to take a student-led tour and to ask current students any questions you have about life at UArts.
All on-campus events are limited to students and guests who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and visitors must provide proof of vaccination. Masks that securely cover the nose and mouth are mandatory in all indoor settings except in designated eating or drinking areas.

Underground Pool is the result of student collaboration, featuring work across majors, from writing and visual arts to multimedia and performance. The theme for this year’s online edition of Underground Pool is “containment.” Underground Pool is published by the Creative Writing program, and edited and designed by students in the Creative Writing and Graphic Design programs.
Dance Festival of Senior Thesis Works & Symposium
Explore the senior thesis works and symposium by Dance students. You can also see projects and exhibitions by School of Dance faculty and guest artists. You’re invited to wander and experience the contents of each project in your own time. Project pages will be available indefinitely, so enter, exit and return as you please.
2021 William H. Ely Illustration Exhibition
The Illustration program at UArts is proud to share the thesis projects of this year’s senior class—the result of a rigorous process of self-reflection, experimentation and refinement, resulting in a highly developed body of work based on a theme and market application. The exhibition is more than a showcase of each student’s dedication, talent and hard work; it marks a celebration of their individual creative voice, professionalism and refined sense of self as they embark on a new career.
Ira Brind School of Theater Arts Fall 2021 Events
The Brind School is working with the fall season directors to create dynamic and groundbreaking theater experiences. Performances include musicals, screenplays, workshops and senior projects. All events are ticketed.
School of Design First Year Core
The School of Design First Year Core is a unique and critical experience for all undergraduate design majors. These collaborative courses will expose you to multiple modes of practice and technologies while providing a solid grounding in design thinking, drawing as thinking, communication, audience and meaning, design technology, and collaboration and team building.
Hayley Romansky ‘21 (Graphic Design) “Relapsing to Silence”
Liftoff! is the spring exhibition for the School of Design at UArts, showcasing student work from four programs: Graphic Design, Illustration, MDes Product Design and MFA Museum Exhibition Planning & Design. This exhibition doesn't mark the end of our students’ academic years but marks the beginning of their professional careers.

Resist Covid Take 6!
Conceived by Carrie Mae Weems and Pierre Loving, Resist Covid Take 6! aims to create an artist-driven public awareness campaign to educate and enlighten Black, Latinx and Native American communities about the impact of COVID-19 on their lives. UArts is the exclusive presenter of Weems’ project in Philadelphia, where billboards, creative messaging and public art has been installed around Center City to highlight the virus’ staggering death toll.
Supported by the Music Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology BFA program, UArts Radio is an online radio station and blog bringing you the latest in music, culture and events. Students and faculty advisors contribute as bloggers, curators and DJs.
Five Films from Lightbox Film Center
Lightbox is a longstanding hub for cutting-edge cinema in Philadelphia. As a UArts student, you’ll have free access to Lightbox screenings on campus and special virtual events. In the meantime, Lightbox Film Center Director Jesse Pires has curated this set of five free short films that capture the unique and innovative approach to filmmaking that Lightbox brings to the foreground
