
Performance Spaces
Our diverse collection of performance spaces play host to a variety of must-see shows, from intimate student productions to award-winning dance troupes, traveling theater productions and world-class musicians.
Effective August 22, masks are optional for all members of our community and campus visitors in all of the university’s public spaces, including during performances, special events and other community gatherings, with occasional exceptions. Learn more about UArts' COVID-19 policies and response.

Arts Bank
The Arts Bank features a 230-seat main stage, rehearsal and dance studio, and Laurie Beechman Cabaret Theater on the first floor.

The Ellen and Ronald Caplan Center for the Performing Arts
Located on the 17th and 18th floors of the Terra Building, The Ellen and Ronald Caplan Center for Performing Arts includes the Caplan Recital Hall and the black box Caplan Studio Theater.

CBS Auditorium
CBS Auditorium is used primarily for meetings, lectures, and workshops and symposia.

Elaine C. Levitt Auditorium
Located within historic Gershman Hall, Levitt Auditorium is a space for large concerts and performances.

YGym Dance Theater
This newly renovated "gray box" studio is a practice and performance space for the School of Dance.

Gershman Black Box Theater
Located in Gershman Hall, the black box theater hosts student-led productions.

Philadelphia Art Alliance
The Philadelphia Art Alliance merged with the University in 2018 and is regarded as one of the first multidisciplinary art spaces in the United States. The University shares in this history with innovative performances for the next generation.

1401 Walnut Street
Conveniently located within walking distance to campus, 1401 Walnut Street is a studio and performance space open to students.

Solmssen Court
Located in Dorrance Hamilton Hall, Solmssen Court is a large event space boasting a spacious stage area, atrium, and sweeping balconies.
