Patricia Kucker was named provost at the University of the Arts in September 2016. She joined UArts from the University of Cincinnati, where she served most recently as associate dean for Faculty Affairs and Curriculum in the College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning, and as an associate professor of Architecture.
For more than 20 years, Kucker has made significant contributions to a number of highly regarded schools while holding administrative and faculty positions. In her most recent post as associate dean, she played a leading role in an internationally ranked multi-disciplinary college of art and design, serving more than 2,300 students.
Kucker is a licensed architect who practiced in Philadelphia for 10 years and has taught architecture and urban design at numerous institutions, including the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University. She has received awards for her design work and teaching, and has also received recognition in local, national and international design competitions. In 2008, Kucker received the distinguished alumni award from the College of Arts and Architecture at the Pennsylvania State University, and she serves on the advisory board for the Stuckeman School there.
She earned a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Architecture from the Pennsylvania State University.
