A monument to Philadelphia's vibrant performing arts culture.
Here, performing arts students learn in the same building where legends like John Barrymore, Sir Laurence Olivier and Katharine Hepburn performed.
Filled with a rich 90-year history, yet updated with state-of-the-art equipment, the Merriam theater is the hub of our School of Music, offering our students an impressive assortment of music facilities, including percussion studios, a piano lab, multiple recording studios and practice rooms, an audio editing lab and synthesizer workstations. In addition the School of Music, the Merriam also features performances by students from our School of Dance and our Ira Brind School of Theater Arts.
We're proud to have the Merriam Theater as part of our campus through our partner organization, the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. The Merriam Theater is centrally located on the Avenue of the Arts, in the vibrant cultural district of Center City, Philadelphia.
