University of the Arts is remote-only for fall 2020 and spring 2021.
Academic Calendar Adjustments
- In light of a fully remote spring semester, we will revert back to our original academic calendar.
- All courses will begin Monday, Jan. 26.
- The semester will conclude May 16.
- Spring break will be observed from Monday, March 15, to Sunday, March 21.
Residential Students & Meal Plans
- In efforts to reduce the spread of COVID, university housing will remain closed for the spring semester. No students will be permitted to reside on campus. As campus will be closed to all students for the spring semester, dining facilities will not be in service.
Looking ahead, our planning continues. Updates will be made frequently and we encourage all students, faculty and staff to check their email regularly and bookmark uarts.edu/covid19.
Residence Life and Community Standards — Spring 2021
The Office of Residence Life and Community Standards (RLCS) will be working remotely for spring 2021. The RLCS staff will respond to questions and send out information via the department email account, firstname.lastname@example.org. This spring, RLCS will focus on efforts to educate and respond to students on the Student Code of Conduct and policies and procedures in the Student Handbook.
The Remote Healthy Promise will be incorporated into the role and responsibility of the campus community. A monthly newsletter will be sent to all students on community, policy and campus resources. As we prepare for the possibility of a fall opening, registration for on-campus housing will be communicated to all students via the department email account, email@example.com.

Who can I speak to if I’m facing housing insecurity?
Unfortunately, there is no temporary housing on campus during remote learning. Email firstname.lastname@example.org about your concerns if you do not have anywhere to go. We know that this is a stressful time for students, and housing and residential staff are available to support you with compassion through this transition.
When does the resident assistant and community assistant selection process for 2021–2022 begin?
An email to all students will be sent in November with information on the resident assistant (RA) and community assistant (CA) application and selection process for 2021–2022. For more information on the RA/CA selection process, please email email@example.com.
I’m a returning student. When is housing selection for 2021–2022?
The housing selection process for 2021–2022 will start at the beginning of the spring 2020 semester. For returning students, information about the housing selection process will be emailed in February 2021.
I’m a new student. When is housing selection for 2021–2022?
The housing selection process for 2021–2022 will start at the beginning of the spring 2020 semester. For new students, information about applying for housing will be emailed in early March.
