When is New Student Orientation, and how will it be delivered?

New Student Orientation for fall 2021 will have two components: one virtual and one in person.

  • The virtual component will run from Aug. 14 to Aug. 18. Students will be invited to attend live Zoom presentations; however, if they are unable to attend the live sessions, they will be recorded and made available for students to review at another time.

  • In-person orientation will take place Aug. 23 for commuter students.

  • Residential students will be assigned a move-in date for Aug. 24 or Aug. 25 and will then participate in New Student Orientation, which will be held Aug. 26.

Will parents and families be welcomed at Orientation?

Parents and support systems will be invited to attend a virtual orientation designed specifically for them, which will be held Aug. 14.

To assist with move-in for residential students, students will be able to bring two people with them to assist their move into their residence hall. Details about dates and times will be shared on the uarts.edu/orientation webpage in the coming weeks.

When do new graduate students begin classes?

Most new graduate students will begin classes Friday, Aug. 27, and graduate student orientation dates will be communicated early this summer. Additional graduate programs may vary by start date; this information will be shared individually. Graduate students will receive details about the specifics of their schedules over the course of the spring and summer.

Can admitted students visit campus before the fall semester begins?

Our campus is closed to visitors until further notice. We encourage you to join our virtual campus tour or reach out to your admissions counselor with any questions about life at UArts.
