Bob Stein holds a BFA Degree in Advertising Design from the Massachusetts College of Art and an MFA Degree in Painting from the Tyler School of Art. He also studied Printmaking independently with George Lockwood at the Impressions Workshop in Boston. He has taught on the design faculties of the Tyler School of Art, The University of Delaware and, since 1969, the Illustration Department of The University of the Arts. In addition to teaching print production and typography at UARTS he also served as Chairman of the Illustration Department, Coordinator of the Communications Workshop (a design service to assist non-profits), and currently coordinates the Design Internship course.
During over 40 years of artistic practice Bob has exhibited his paintings and drawings in a variety of venues and completed numerous design commissions. His work is characterized by an interest in complex painted surfaces and recently through collage of digitally created imagery.
