Randy Kapralick

Randy received his BA in Studio Music & Jazz Performance from the University of Miami School of Music in 1997. Immediately upon graduating, he was hired to play lead trombone for the legendary Motown groups The Four Tops and The Temptations. Throughout his career, Randy has had the chance to perform/record with Aretha Franklin, KC & the Sunshine Band, Frankie Valli, The Spinners, Tito Puente, Joe Henderson, Joe Lovano, Gerry Mulligan, Dave Liebman, Maria Schneider, Bill Watrous, and Robert Goulet. In Philadelphia, Randy can be seen playing with a variety of exciting ensembles including Norman David's Eleventet, Rick Lawn's Power of Ten, Slowburn, Minas, Puzzlebox, and the Earl Phillips Big Band. Randy is Chair of the Trombone Department at University of the Arts and directs the prestigious UArts Philadelphia High School All-Star Jazz Ensemble. Randy is also co-coordinator of the UArts Summer Jazz Institute.
