Profile
From 1979 to 1984, Richard Felton was a senior designer for the New York design firm Anspach Grossman Portugal, after which he established his own New York-based design consulting firm.
He has received awards for identity programs for Sun Company, Texaco, the New York Stock Exchange, Price Waterhouse and Tiffany & Co. His work has been featured in Time magazine as well as in numerous design publications, including AIGA Graphic Design USA, Communication Arts, Design Quarterly, Print, ID and others.
Felton began his association with the University of the Arts in 1974. In 1999, he became a full-time faculty member, addressing professional and pragmatic concerns in the senior-level Problem Solving course, junior-level Communications Studio and sophomore-level Design Systems. He served as Chairman of the Graphic Design department from 2004 through 2008.
