Linda Henderson is an assistant professor in the Ira Brind School of Theater Arts at the University of the Arts, where she teaches piano, Musical Theater performance, and serves as coach/accompanist. She holds an MM in piano performance from West Chester University and a BFA in piano performance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Henderson is a busy performer, regularly playing piano and celeste for Opera Philadelphia, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Ballet, as well as playing keyboard for the Broadway tours at the Academy of Music.
She has been music director of many Brecht plays at the University of Delaware’s Professional Theater Training Program, and presented a paper entitled “Music in the Plays of Bertolt Brecht” at the International Society for the Study of European Ideas in Cyprus during the summer of 2012.
She is also a member of Delaware Steel and has performed with that ensemble in Germany, Israel, Sweden and Greece. She plays steel drums in Trinidad every January for the Panorama competition in that country. She and her husband, percussionist Harvey Price, have been performing as the ragtime duo, Bit O'Rhythm, for 30 years.
