Profile
Mr. Milder is director of the Masters of Industrial Design program and has been a full-time faculty member at the University of the Arts since 1997. He served as chair of the undergraduate program for Industrial Design between 2002 and 2006. He has also been a visiting professor in the Department for Industrial Design at Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, R.I.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial design from the College for Design in Schwaebisch Gmuend, Germany, and a Design Diploma (equivalent to MID) from the University of the Arts in Berlin, Germany. His design work has been reviewed in design publications worldwide and received national and international awards.
He lectures extensively on design, and his work has been featured in an extensive list of publications, including:

Mr. Milder is principal of Milder Office, a New York-based furniture design and production company. Working through a network of local fabricators, Milder Office distributes a furniture system that combines standardized detailing with a design protocol that is open for customer input and collaborative development. Milder Office consults on workplace planning projects for office as well as learning environments.
