John B. Lindner is a Senior Lecturer at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia where he supervises student teaching placements in the Music Education Department.  In addition he currently is an adjunct professor at Montclair State University and at the College of New Jersey. He is a graduate of Trenton State College where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1974 and his Master of Education Degree in 1978.  

For thirty-four years, Mr. Lindner served as the Director of Bands at Northern Burlington County Regional High School in Columbus, N.J.  While tenured there he also served as Chairman of the Visual and Performing Arts Department.  Mr. Lindner directed the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Brass Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Band, Marching Band and the Musical Show Orchestra.

Mr. Lindner’s performing ensembles received many awards and honors over the years.  The Jazz Ensemble under his direction in 2007 placed First in the NJ-IAJE State Jazz Band Division Three Finals and the Wind Ensemble was selected seven times to perform at the NBA/NJMEA New Jersey State Gala Band Concert.  Mr. Lindner was also the guest conductor of the 2004 All South Jersey Senior High School Symphonic Band, the 2009 Central Jersey Music Educators Association Intermediate Honors Band and the 2010 Central Jersey Music Educators Association High School Symphonic Band.

Mr. Lindner is a member of the National Association for Music Education and the International Trumpet Guild.  He was honored by the New Jersey Chapter of the International Association for Jazz Education as the New Jersey Jazz Educator of the year for 2002-2003.  In 2007 Mr. Lindner was honored as the 2007 New Jersey Master Music Educator of the year by the New Jersey Music Educators Association and also received the New Jersey Governor’s Award in Arts Education.
