Member of North American Society for the Study of Romanticism. Manuscript and book reviewer for European. Romantic Review. Publications: scholarly articles on Keats, Shelley, Wordsworth, Holderlin, Novalis, Leopardi and Nerval, and on aesthetics and the philosophy of literary criticism (Heidegger, Gadamer, de Man, Benjamin, Bloch). "Nostalgia of the Everyday: Worldly Things as Poetic Criteria, in Weil and Jaccottet," published in the Christianity and Literature Journal. "Vacant Holidays: The Theological Remainder in Leopardi, Baudelaire, and Benjamin" was accepted for publication in the Comparative Issue of MLN (Modern Language Notes). In December of 2005, he delivered a paper on "Revisiting Nietzsche's Critique of Christianity" at the annual convention of the Modern Language Association. The subject of the panel was "Secularization and German Literature."
