Connie Koppe holds a B.S. in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Music in Opera from Temple University. She is also a Designated Linklater Teacher of Voice (DLT) and a Certified Practitioner of Phonetic Pillows. Since 1980, she has taught private singing and arts education workshops for several organizations and in schools in and around Philadelphia, New York State and New Jersey. Connie currently holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor in speech for actors at The Ira Brind School of Theater Arts and maintains her own private singing and speech studio. She has also taught "American Culture Through Popular Song" for The English Language Center at Drexel University and "Presentation Skills" for the English Language Institute at the University of the Arts.
Connie has always been involved in the performing arts. She has sung with opera companies in the tri-state area including the Opera Company of Philadelphia, in musical theater productions including two premiers at the Media Theater and with several children's theater companies based in Philadelphia. She currently performs as lead singer with Enchanté, a French Cabaret band. Off stage, Connie directs opera productions (most recently "The Marriage of Figaro" with the Delaware Valley Opera Co.) and worked for 12 years as the costume shop manager and costume designer for Temple University's Opera Department.
Connie is founder and CEO of COMMAND THE ROOM, empowering business professionals through their voices. She also leads classes called The Voice Gym Philly, a voice and body warm-up for performing artists. She is co-founder and visiting artist for The Living Bookshelf, a literacy and music program for middle school students.
