Claire Binek is an emerging opera professional and established voice teacher in Philadelphia, and has been teaching at UArts since 2006. She earned her Masters' degree in 2011 from Westminster Choir College in Voice Performance and Pedagogy, studying under Sharon Sweet. Her work at Westminster focused on teaching to meet the demands on singing technique for contemporary music. She also holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Western Michigan University and has sung under Dr. Joe Miller. While at Westminster she was featured soloist with orchestra in scenes from La Cenerentola, Carmen, and Rigoletto. Recently, she has been seen with Delaware Valley Opera (Eugene Onegin), Delaware Valley Opera Company/Philadelphia (Amahl, Hansel and Gretel, Broadway Night), The Princeton Festival, and Opera Modo. She is currently a student of Randall Scarlata.
