Search fields Subject Categories and Subject Terms for articles from 1996 to the present. To search for older journal articles, use the Keyword field.


IIPA International Index to the Performing Arts

SEARCH TIPS
Search by Field: Keywords, Title Keywords, Author, Subject Categories, Subject Terms, ISSN, Document Type, etc.
Browse all fields to check if your term is the correct one.
Place double quotation marks ("") around a phrase when searching the Keyword fields; if not, the system default places 'or' between 2 terms.

BEST BET:
Can only use Subject Categories and Subject Terms for current articles from 1997 on.
To search for older journal articles, use the Keyword field.

Choice of 4 search types: Basic, Advanced, Expert and Article Locator. Use Advanced for greater control over search; use Expert if comfortable creating own search statements using Boolean Logic and fields; use Article Locator for citation searching.
Browse Journal titles to select from entire run.

BEST BET:
TO PRINT: in order to print entire article, use PRINT command in JSTOR instead of your browser; default is high-quality PDF which requires Adobe, or you can download a software helper application, JPRINT.

Use the Narrow Search feature to reduce your results.
View search results as lists, KWIC (KeyWord In Context) and full-text.
See the LexisNexis list of Smartindexing terms.

BEST BET:
Use 'Power Search' for more ways to search including limiting to a particular publication title.
To quickly judge relevancy, display your results in KWIC (KeyWord In Context) format that shows only sentences containing your search terms.
