Library ServicesCirculation and Course Reserves || Reference || Faculty Services || Interlibrary Loan ||Circulation and Course ReservesCirculation and course reserves are available in the Greenfield, Music and Visual Resources Libraries. A validated ID is required for all library transactions, including course reserves. Please see our policies page for information on borrowing periods and fines.Faculty who wish to use the course reserves service should view the Faculty Services page.
Course reserves are materials put on reserve by faculty for particular courses and are usually required reading, viewing or listening materials. Course reserve lists may be viewed through the library catalog. In addition to searching by course number you may search by instructor's last name, so make sure you know your instructor's name (the only exception to this is the First-Year Writing course, which is filed under its course name). In addition to materials in the Music and Greenfield Libraries, the Visual Resources Library also provides course reserves, usually in electronic form. Reserve slides are available for study in the Slide Library during regular Slide Library hours; after the Slide Library closes at 5pm Monday through Friday, reserve slides are available at the Greenfield Library circulation desk.
Reference ServiceReference service and assistance is available in all the libraries. The reference librarians and staff are happy to help all patrons make the most of their research time. In addition to helping patrons here in the University of the Arts Libraries, we can give you guidance on using other libraries, using our electronic resources, finding pictures in the picture file, searching the Internet, finding the right reference book, and more. The reference librarians in the Greenfield Library are Mary Louise Castaldi and Sara MacDonald. In the Music Library, patrons should seek the assistance of Mark Germer, Music Librarian. Please see our staff listing for telephone numbers and e-mail. For your own convenience, we highly recommend making an appointment with a librarian to discuss your research.
