As the Director of International Student Programs, I am looking forward to helping you have a successful and rewarding college experience. Our International Student Orientation is designed to give you a smooth and enjoyable transition to your life in Philadelphia and at the University of the Arts.

International Student Orientation Fall 2012 Schedule
Monday, August 20th – Wednesday, August 22nd
MONDAY, AUGUST 20
9:00 am - 5:00 pm: Arrival and Move-In
**REQUIRED for all students living in the Residence Halls and ESLI students
**Recommended for all off-campus International Students
- Off-Campus Students: Please arrive at Hamilton Hall 320 South Broad Street, Broad between Pine and Lombard Street. Orientation Leaders will welcome you, help you check-in and escort you to the International Student Programs Office.
- On-Campus Students: Please arrive at your assigned Residence Hall. An International Student Orientation Leader will be there to accompany you to Hamilton Hall and the office of International Student Programs so that you can complete your check-in.
- Your ID will be ready if you have sent your photograph according to the instructions available here: https:// photoid.uarts.edu/. If you were not able to send your photograph, we will order your ID
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm: Dinner and Residence Hall Meeting
Location: Jamaican Jerk Hut (15th and South Street)
**REQUIRED for all students living in the Residence Halls

TUESDAY, AUGUST 21
10:00 am - 12:00 pm: International Breakfast REQUIRED
Location: Levitt Foyer, Gershman Hall, 3rd Floor
- Overview of F-1 Visa Regulations and Document Registration
- Strategies for Adapting to life in Philadelphia and at UArts
- Stories and advice by current international students
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Lunch
Location: Terra Dining Hall, Terra Hall (on Broad Street between Locust/Walnut)
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Trolley Tour of Philadelphia & Shopping Trip
Location: Meet in Gershman Hall lobby by 12:45 pm
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm: Evening Events: Baseball Game, Music Concert, Ice-Cream and Park, Movies
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 22
**For parents of International Students:
10:00 am - 12:00 pm: International Parents Brunch & Information Session
Location: Parc Restaurant (18th and Locust Street)
**For international students:
10:00 am - 3:00 pm: English and Writing Proficiency Tests
**REQUIRED for most International students
10:00 am - 12:00 pm: English Proficiency Test
Location: 415 Gershman Hall
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Lunch
Location:Terra Dining Hall, Terra Hall (on Broad Street between Locust/Walnut)
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Writing Test

6:00 pm – 9:30 pm: Karaoke, Dance, and Dinner Party
