Housing Lottery

Statistics show that students who live on campus do better academically and are more satisfied with their college experience?

This year we are very excited to introduce the Housing Lottery Process. Students will use the online housing portal to apply for housing and electronically sign the housing agreement. At the end of February, lottery numbers will be randomly generated. Those who receive a lottery number are eligible for housing (please note the term lottery applies to the application process. If you receive a lottery number and accept it, fullhousing and boards fees will apply). To secure your spot, students are required to pay your $200 housing deposit online. All full-time University of the Arts students are eligible to apply to live on campus. Students who live on campus are also required to have a 19-meals-per-week meal plan.

Studies show that students who live on campus housing are happier and more satisfied with their social and academic experiences. Whether it is easier access to academic buildings, the library, study groups or campus events, living on campus is one of the most valuable opportunities provided to students.

Due to overwhelming demand for housing and limited spaces, not all upper class residents who apply for the housing lottery will receive a number. Please remember that if you are not assigned a lottery number, you will have the option to go onto the waitlist. Additional spaces do become available over the summer, and students placed on the waitlist should not be discouraged. In typical years, most students who apply to the waitlist do receive housing before the start of the fall semester!

It is important to discuss all available options with your parent(s) or guardian(s) BEFORE signing the 2015-2016 Housing Agreement, as it is a full year contract that is terminated only under very specific circumstances.
