Events and Activities
The Office of Student Activities offers a variety of events throughout the academic year. Annual events include carnivals, movie nights, late-night ice-skating, Halloween parties, casino nights, open-mic nights, and a spring fling. Students can take part trips to destinations such as Franklin Mills Mall, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
Student Organizations
Students play a major role in determining the character of the student life programs. Student organizations work closely with the Student Activities Office to present programs that are enriching and fun. Student organizations contribute to cross-cultural and international student affairs, Black History Month, Women’s History Month, and other events. The University’s many student organizations include Student Council, African-American Student Union, Fencing Club, and the University of the Arts Christian Fellowship. Want to start your own club? All you need are good ideas, and we will help with the rest!
Fitness Facilities
To encourage sports and physical fitness, the University offers discounted memberships at the 12th Street Gym. The gym has a variety of fitness facilities, including Nautilus and free weights, a pool, aerobic and yoga classes. Information about the gym is available in the Student Activities Office or at http://www.12streetgym.com/.
