Computer Purchases
In recognition of the increasingly essential role that technology plays in education, creative practice, the professional world and our personal lives, the University is launching the Anytime, Anywhere Creativity Program. This program will transform the UArts landscape, giving participating students their own laptop, and the wireless, portable technology that enables all of us to communicate, learn and create - anytime, anywhere.

Students required to participate include:
• All students entering the University's degree programs as freshmen in Fall 2008, or
• First-year graduate students in Art Education, Master of Industrial Design or Museum Exhibition, Planning and Design, or
• Sophomores in the College of Art and Design in the Fall of 2008

Computing Resources
The department of Academic Computing is dedicated to the support and integration of digital technology within the University's academic programs. Academic Computing maintains a variety of labs (30) including those dedicated to high-end graphics work and animation, and to music, and five dual-platform digital laboratories in the New Media Center.

Two of the University's labs in Anderson Hall (333 South Broad Street) and in the Terra Building (211 South Broad Street) are dedicated solely to open access for students.

Additionally, open access is scheduled throughout the University's labs located in the Terra Building at 211 South Broad Street, the Merriam Building at 250 South Broad Street, and in other labs in the Anderson Building. Those schedules change weekly or bi-weekly and are posted on the door of each lab and available at the Security Guard station in each building.
