I've been working really hard in my classes trying to make as much work as possible. I know that thesis is coming quick and I'll want to have as much to choose from as possible. Since I've been working with text more and more, and I've never had much experience with typography, I have a lot of research into that area. I'm trying to find someone knowledgeable to consult with. I got to use the vinyl cutter that we have on the 13th floor and the result was really awesome. It's kind of like the laser cutter how it's so precise and clean, but the laser was burning the edges of some of my materials. The work I got from the vinyl cutter is perfect.
Coming up this November, the seniors in the Multidisciplinary department have a show in the president's office. We've decided to call it "And now." I'm going to put in three different pieces. We have some pretty strict deadlines to get information in and get the work up, so I'm stressed out naturally.
I'm also working at the opening in the sculpture gallery tonight. The artists are Alex Gartelmann and Jonas Sebura. Alex used to be the shop supervisor for the sculpture department, and then he went off to grad school in Chicago. The work they installed is looking great.
I'm a senior Multidisciplinary major here at Uarts and I focus mainly on Sculpture. I really enjoy working in the woodshop and metal shop, but most of my work is some combination of every material I can get my hands on. In my spare time I love watching movies with friends and playing video games. I like experimenting with cooking and using friends and family as guinea pigs.
