Senior Year In Full Swing
At about the halfway point of the first semester of my senior year, I'm definitely feeling the growing senioritis, but I also find myself having a fair amount of nostalgia. This school has been my home away from home for the past 3 and a half years, and it's been my safety net when it came to my acting. At times it gets hard to be excited about graduation in May. I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to stay in Philadelphia after I graduate, so the prospect of leaving this city is not an easy pill to swallow. I back track to, what seems like billions of times, when I have walked up and down Broad Street, each time becoming more vivid as I sift through them in my head. There's so much that I've done and found here at this university and in this city, and somehow it all coming to an end doesn't sit well with me. But on another note, I just finished a production of O Beautiful by Theresa Rebeck here at UArts which was an amazing and enjoyable experience. I got to work with Johnnie Hobbs Jr. in his last production here at UArts, and since I had him as my Freshman acting studio teacher, it was really an all encompassing experience. So now it's the post-show return to reality. Back to thinking hard about my future, taking a ton of naps and making decisions about No Shave November.
My name is Collin and I'm a senior acting major here at UArts. I have been acting since I was about nine years old and I love pursuing an education in something I'm really passionate about. Philadelphia is an amazing city and working for UArts has really given me a personal connection with this city and the university.
