Going red for marriage equality
Today's a big day in the supreme court and a big day in history. Today, March 26th 2013, at 8:30 AM supporters of marriage equality gathered outside of the supreme court on the first day of hearings to show that they believe all Americans deserve to be treated fairly and equally under the law no matter who they love. I personally think that this is a great event that will hopefully diminish the political battling against prop 8 and marriage equality. I believe that people should be able to love who they want no matter what gender, race, etc. Today is called "Going Red For Marriage Equality" because people who wear red today are supposed to represent their support for this movement and their stance on marriage equality to be one of acceptance and support. I know I will be wear red today... will you? I've seen numerous students around campus wearing red today and also some with the equality sign somewhere on either their face or body to show their support. I think it's great that at our school we have the freedom to stand up for what we believe in and have so many diverse students that all stand up for the right reasons. Below I've included some links to some sites where you can listen to the arguments present in the Supreme Court and also some other links to find out more about today and the events that are taking place!
