With all the craziness going on today I can't imagine what people are going through that were at the Boston Marathon today. Apparently two explosions happened within seconds of eachother that left two dead and dozens injured. The Chicago tribune reported
"Two bombs ripped through the crowd at the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday, killing two people and injuring dozens with some victims suffering amputations in what a White Houseofficial said would be handled as an "act of terror."
It was the worst bombing on U.S. soil since security was tightened after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and President Barack Obama promised to hunt down whoever was responsible for the attack on a day when tens of thousands of spectators packed the streets to watch the world-famous race."
It's so crazy to think that at such as a celebrated event in Boston like the Boston Marathon which is the world's oldest annual marathon, and ranks as one of the world's best-known road racing events, that something so tragic could happen. On a day that was meant for celebration and coming together. I can only hope that every here at UArts doesn't know anyone effected by the explosions and that nothing like this happens again any time soon, or at all for that matter! I will keep those affected in my prayers.
To find out more about the explosion I have provided a link below that also has footage of the race taking place during the explosion.
