End of the semester

Well, it's that time of the year again.. the end of the semester. I'd just like to write a short little post saying thank you to UArts for the opportunities and expierences it's presented me with. Even though I'm a transfer student whose just been here for one semester I can tell that the rest of my years here at UArts will be great ones filled with great memories and friends.

Final Projects!

As the semester draws to a close I figured I'd share with you guys how my finals have been going and what I've been working on. In my Object & Enviornment class Found and Fabricated myself and two of my friends worked together to create a final installation for the class' final project and boy did we work! The class is called found and fabricated because we use found objects that are readily avaliable to us and fabricate them to make a larger project.

Finals Week!

If you're anything like me you're stressed to the max and sleep deprived like no other during this final home stretch of a week and a half left of the semester! Although it's super stressful and you might feel like you just want to give up and bang your head against the desk a million and one times there are some easy ways to get through finals week without feeling like a psychopath about to break down in the middle of class! This is my fourth semester dealing with finals in college and I can tell you personally that time management is key!

UArts Raffle

So the other day I won a ticket to see Jay Z and Justin Timberlake in August through UArts school raffle for people who got tested for HIV. I think that UArts does a great job on informing students on the dangers and precautions of sex and the risks involved with it. They encourage students to attend health fairs and offer free STI/STD testing from time to time regularly. UArt's health services are great and I think every student should really take advantage of that UArts has to offer to better themselves and know theie status!

Street Fair

If you missed PIFA yesterday you missed an exciting day! The street was filled with hundreds of people all day until the sun went down. There was so much to do and see. The art was amazing and so was the food. They had rides such as the ferris wheel and cool art exhibits not only to see but to watch as in performance art. It was definitely a site to see! My friends and I walked all the way down Broad St. to the beginning of the fair and followed it to the end stopping at every little venue and performance and it truly was a great expierence!

PIFA

Today is the day! PIFA is finally here. I know my friends and I have been waiting a while for this. Today is the Philadelphia INternational Festival of the Arts! It's basically a huge art fair with rides and awesome art to look at in Center City. Thankfully, The University of the Arts is in the heart of it all and we literally just have to walk out of our dorms and were at the festival! It's only today from 11AM-7PM so if you have some free time I highly suggest stopping by it there's so much to do and see and it's an awesome daytime event for friends and family to attend.

School Year Coming to an End!

We've got, what? Two weeks left? WHERE IN THE WORLD has this year gone? I remember talking about how fast senior year went after High School Graduation and I think freshman year of college just may have gone faster. The weather is finally being nice, and I mean that as opposed to the weather being rude. (I give humanistic traits to the weather because I feel that it victimizes me with dreary, cold, and disgusting days.) My spirits are extremely high and I owe most of that to the beautiful weather. Two more weeks and i'm outta here for Summer break!

Dance shows

If you haven't seen any dance shows here at UArts yet boy are you missing out! On Sunday night there was another dance show for Freshman and Sophomores that was yet again- amazing. This time I had two friends that were in the dances so it was extra special. The show ran for about 2 hours and 20 minutes but there were truly some great pieces and the best part is that they were all choreographed by students. Student who have been working all semester choreographing and also going to rehearsal and learning the dance were finally able to show off their talent at the show.

Stress and Relaxation

I apologize for the lack of post's from my part, I've been quite busy for the past month. The stress is there but I am very glad with the work I've been producing these past few weeks. The end of the semester is approaching, the weather is getting warmer and summer is near!

Boston Explosion!

With all the craziness going on today I can't imagine what people are going through that were at the Boston Marathon today. Apparently two explosions happened within seconds of eachother that left two dead and dozens injured. The Chicago tribune reported
