Why did you choose UArts?
UArts has a lot of majors when we compare it to other art’ schools in the United States. It is very interesting and also a great opportunity for students. We can learn so many things outside of our major as well. I think that is very important to get inspiration from other majors; therefore, I chose UArts." 

You're an international student. How does that influence your perspective?
"I think that I have a better understanding for different cultures or people, and I accept them. I have had great experiences in the United States. It is not only about languages or cultures. This opportunity makes me grow as a strong person." 

What do you want to do when you graduate?
"I want to be a children’s book illustrator."

 How have faculty helped you refine your skills?
"Faculty usually consider students as artists, and students try to respond to each project as a professional. Both teachers and students have never given up until their satisfied with the student’s work. I think that this motivation develops student’s skills and confidences."

What extracurricular activities are you involved in at UArts?
"I have been a member of the Global Exchange club at the UArts.  We usually have several events in one semester, and introduce each culture."

When did you start drawing?
"I believe that I started drawing when I was 5 or 6 years old.  I drew Japanese comic or animation girls almost everyday when I was an elementary school student."
