Schoolof Theater Arts’Tis Pity She’s a Whore

A Jacobean tragedy about incestuous love between brother and sister. First published and performed in 1633, “’Tis Pity She’s a Whore” has been a frequent target of censors and critics, both for its provocative title and its gruesome plot. Set in Parma, Italy, amidst the upper and lower classes of society and ripe with lust, greed, murder, revenge and honor, “’Tis Pity She’s a Whore” is a scathing critique of culture and morality. Recommended for mature audiences. Director: David Howey.
