UArts alumni James Rolfe BFA ’04 (Film) and Kevin Finn BFA ’03 (Film) will premiere their film “Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie” on July 21 in Hollywood at the historic Grauman’s Egyptian Theater to a sold-out crowd. The comedy, based on the popular web series of the same name, will also screen on August 2 at the Colonial Theater in Phoenixville, Pa., and is also sold out.
Other screenings include select theaters in Boston, Atlanta, San Francisco, Chicago, St. Louis, Montreal and Toronto throughout July and August. DVD, Blu-ray and video-on-demand releases are scheduled for late 2014.
“Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie” is a completely fan-funded film, made possible thanks to an extremely successful Indiegogo campaign that raised more than $325,000.
James Rolfe, who is co-director, producer and co-writer of the film, reprises his on-screen role as the Nerd. Other projects include Cinemassacre's “Monster Madness” (2007) and “The Deader the Better” (2005).
In addition to his comedic directorial work on “Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie,” award-winning director/writer/producer Kevin Finn has also served as a producer on A&E's "Duck Dynasty," Comedy Central's "Reality Bites Back," NBC's "The Biggest Loser" and ABC's "Master Chef."
