Kickstarter-funded Carpenter Watch by Lorenzo Buffa BS '12 (Industrial Design) for sale at Museum of Modern Art's celebrated shop

Congratulations to alumnus Lorenzo Buffa BS '12 (Industrial Design), whose Carpenter Watch is included in the Museum of Modern Art Design Store's Kickstarter@MoMA presentation. Hand selected by MoMA's curators, the collaboration features 24 Kickstarter-funded projects that are available for purchase in the museum's shop in New York City and online for the next two months.
"So many of the most impressive, new and innovative products we have been finding lately kept leading us back to Kickstarter," says Emmanuel Platt, director of merchandising at the MoMA Design Store, which is often seen as a barometer of contemporary design trends.
An extremely successful Kickstarter campaign helped launch Buffa's Analog Watch Co., a senior thesis project turned thriving business, which also got its start with a Creative Incubator/Wells Fargo Fellowship Grant from the University's Corzo Center for the Creative Economy.
Analog Watch Co.'s Carpenter Collection features the first-ever line of gender-neutral all-wood watches designed with a truly soft and flexible wooden strap. Buffa has also just opened a retail store on East Passyunk Avenue in South Philadelphia.
