Work by alumni Holly Goeckler BFA '85 (Crafts) and Christopher Darway BFA '70 (Crafts) is included in "Craft Forms 2013," the international juried exhibition currently on display through January 25, 2014, at the Wayne Art Center in Wayne, Pa.
The prestigious show's companion exhibit, "Nature in Craft," features UArts Craft & Material Studies professors Sharon Church and Mi-Kyoung Lee MFA '96 (Book Arts/Printmaking), as well as alumni Hratch Babikian BFA '83 (Jewelry), Melissa Guglielmo BFA '11 (Crafts), Alexandra Lozier BFA '10 (Crafts) and Emi Savacool BFA '09 (Crafts). This international invitational exhibition also runs through January 25 at Wayne Art Center.
Now in its 19th year, "Craft Forms" is dedicated to enhancing contemporary craft while providing a venue for established and emerging artists to share their creative endeavors. With works in wood, clay, fiber, glass, metal, jewelry and mixed media, the show draws more than 5,000 local and national visitors each year. Nearly 500 craft artists apply annually from the United States, Europe and other continents, with about 100 artists accepted into the show.
Featured in conjunction with "Craft Forms," "Nature in Craft" is a dynamic exhibition that focuses on mixed mediums and how the artist incorporates nature through material, concept and execution. Over 40 international artists are featured.
