Laundry Punch Bag by Master Lecturer Jason Lempieri MID ’04 (Industrial Design) named honoree in Soft Goods category
September 5, 2013
"It's serious. It's fun. It's seriously fun. It's three things in one: a hamper, a workout and a transporter."
This is how Master Lecturer and alumnus Jason Lempieri MID '04 (Industrial Design) describes his Laundry Punch Bag, recently named a Professional Notable winner in the prestigious Core77 Design Awards in the Soft Goods category.
Lempieri's clever product is produced by the British retailer SuckUK LTD and has sold well since its introduction last February. It’s been featured on the "Today Show," on numerous design blogs and is available online at Urban Outfitters.
"The Laundry Punch Bag hangs and feels like a boxing bag, but acts as a container for dirty laundry and as a carrier to the laundromat," says Lempieri. "A great way to work out your home chore frustrations too!"
A self-described catalyst, Lempieri is a trained architect who has been teaching at UArts for nearly a decade.
Recognizing excellence in all areas of design enterprise, the Core77 Design Awards celebrate the richness of the design profession and the brilliance of its practitioners.
