Benefit Exhibition for BalletX Features Work by Faculty, Alumni
Bridgette Mayer Gallery hosts exhibit in support of Philadelphia's premier contemporary ballet company from July 9 through August 9

Work by several faculty and alumni from the University of the Arts is included in the Benefit Exhibition for BalletX, an expansive group exhibit hosted by Bridgette Mayer Gallery in Philadelphia (709 Walnut Street). The show, which runs July 9 – August 9, will benefit BalletX, Philadelphia's premier contemporary ballet company. An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, July 12 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Participating artists include Fine Arts Lecturer Daniel Gerwin, Fine Arts Adjunct Assistant Professor Rebecca Saylor Sack, Sculpture Professor Jeanne Jaffe, Fine Arts Adjunct Professor Eileen Neff BFA ’72 (Painting), Fran Deitrich BFA ’75 (Jewelry), Ellen Soffer BFA ’81 (Painting), Piper Shepard BFA ’85 (Fibers), Aaron Igler BFA ’94 (Photography), Senior Lecturer Shelley Spector BFA ’94 (Sculpture), Mary Smull BFA ’95 (Fibers), Adam Wallacavage BFA ’95 (Photography), Liberal Arts Adjunct Assistant Professor and Academic Advisor Michele Kishita BFA ’97 (Painting), MFA ’10 (Painting), Justin Bursk MFA ’03 (Painting), Leah Mackin BFA ’07 (Printmaking), Nathan Pankratz MFA ’08 (Painting/Drawing) and Matt Parrish MFA ’08 (Painting/Drawing).
More than 200 local, national and international artists – from recent MFA graduates to established artists held in prominent museum collections – were selected to create 400 paintings, photographs, collages and sculptures on 10-inch square panels. Each work will be sold for either $500 or $1,000, with proceeds benefitting BalletX.
