Illustration Department Sponsors Alumnus-Led Philly Draw-A-Thon

Founded by Tom Panico BFA '11 (Illustration), 24-hour charity event on July 13 – 14 to benefit Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

June 13, 2013

Founded in 2012 by Tom Panico BFA '11 (Illustration) and sponsored by the Illustration department, the Philly Draw-a-Thon is a 24-hour sketching marathon that raises money for Child's Play Charity, an organization the benefits children's hospitals.

Proceeds from this year's event, which will take place July 13 – 14 in the University's Solmssen Court (320 S. Broad St.), will specifically benefit the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Child's Play buys games, toys and movies for children who need to stay at the hospital for extended periods of time.

The Draw-a-Thon was created to give artists an opportunity to use their talent and passion to give back to the community. For 24 hours – starting at noon on Saturday, July 13 and ending at noon on Sunday, July 14 – artists will draw sketches of their favorite comic book, movie and video game characters. Those sketches will then be sold for $10 each.
