Art Unleashed 2013 Sets Fundraising, Attendance Records
Annual exhibition and sale raises over $400,000 for scholarships; more than 700 registered guests attend April 10 Preview Party
April 29, 2013
Art Unleashed, the University's primary fundraising event that showcases the work of our talented students, alumni and faculty, raised more than $400,000 this year, a record amount that will benefit the Sam. S. McKeel Promising Young Artists Scholarship Fund.
The Preview Party set another record, with more than 700 registered guests enjoying great art, food, wine and entertainment. Attendees were treated to performances by School of Music students in Solmssen Court and our bucket-drum ensemble Rumble, who welcomed attendees from the Hamilton Hall steps.
Rumble also participated with Dance students in pop-up performances across the city for several weeks prior to Art Unleashed. Those exciting events were chronicled by students from the UArts Film/Video program (watch below).
Special thanks go to our hardworking Art Unleashed Committee, led by co-chairs Sherry Effron, Jim Fulton ’72 (Architecture Design), Jennifer Rice and Eric Rymshaw; and to Alumni Spotlight Artists Dan Dailey '69 (Crafts) and Jerry Pinkney '60 (Advertising Design). This event was made possible by generous individual and corporate sponsors, including Lead Corporate Sponsor CRW Graphics and Exclusive Media Sponsor FOX 29 television.
The fifth annual Art Unleashed exhibition and sale was held April 10 – 13 in Hamilton Hall.
