Theater Professor Awarded Directing, Teaching Prize

Directing, Playwriting & Production head Amy Feinberg recognized by Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival

Associate Professor Amy Feinberg, head of the Ira Brind School of Theater Arts' Directing, Playwriting & Production program, was recognized at the Region II Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF), which took place January 12 – 16 at Towson University in Towson, Md.

Feinberg was awarded a plaque as director of "The Walls," selected by the KCACTF to be performed during the festival to the more than 1,300 attendees. The Lisa Dillman drama, originally mounted for the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival + Philly Fringe in September, was the Brind School's first production of the 2012-2013 season.

The producing artistic director of New York's Hypothetical Theatre Company was also the recipient of the first Innovative Teaching Prize, co-sponsored by the KCACTF and the Association for Theatre in Higher Education. The prestigious award is given to one professor per region.
