Clayton Reilly BM '06 (Trumpet) earns songwriting nods for r&b artists Miguel, John Legend

Add double Grammy nominee to the ever-growing list of accolades for School of Music alumnus Clayton Reilly BM '06 (Trumpet).

The trumpet player, songwriter and producer is up for two of the coveted music awards with his production team, Phatboiz, nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album for Miguel’s "Kaleidoscope Dream" and for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for John Legend's "Tonight (Best You Ever Had)." The Legend hit also earned Reilly a Soul Train Award in November for his songwriting efforts.

Reilly, whose career took off after joining Legend's band in 2007, played with the neo-soul singer at President Obama's inaugural ball on January 21. He's also played back-up on trumpet for Diddy, co-produced three songs on r&b artist Ne-Yo's recently released album, "R.E.D.," and is currently working with Legend on his next album.

Winners of the 55th Annual Grammy Awards will be announced live on February 10 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
