August 1, 2012

Dan Zank BM '95 (Music Performance) may not be competing for a gold medal, but this Emmy Award-winning composer/arranger is still part of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Music that he arranged can be heard in a TV commercial by United Airlines that features Olympic athletes on their way to the U.K. for the games (above). Zank, a full-time film composer for New York-based production house Yessian, also served as creative director for a second United Olympics spot (below).

Zank has worked with other A-list clients at Yessian, including Coca-Cola, Morgan Stanley, Ford and Disney. His music arrangement for the opening number to the 81st Oscar Awards featuring Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway won a 2009 Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyric.
