Liberal Arts Senior Lecturer and alumna Justyna Badach BFA '94 (Photography) will be the featured artist on WHYY-TV's "Friday Arts" program airing on September 7 at 8:30 p.m. The September episode, which will focus on Badach's award-winning "Bachelor Portraits" series, will also be screened as part of WHYY's second annual Connections Festival, being held September 6 – 9 on the Delaware riverfront.
The "Friday Arts" preview screening will take place on September 7 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Race Street Pier and includes a First Friday celebration with live performances and a chance to meet the producers of the Emmy-winning WHYY production.
Selected as a 2012 National Scholarship winner for the Society for Photographic Education, "Bachelor Portraits" features men that can be flawed and vulnerable, and above all, real individuals. Each photo is accompanied by text that provides as much focus and clarity about each subject as the photograph itself. Many of the portraits are of bachelors from Philadelphia, where Badach makes her home with her husband.
Produced by local media provider WHYY, "Friday Arts" is a 30-minute monthly arts, culture and entertainment magazine with a strong online component that spotlights Greater Philadelphia's arts.
