The University of the Arts' new website has been selected as a 2012 Webby Award nominee. The Webby Awards are the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet. Designed by the alumnus-led firm, Siegel+Gale, uarts.edu is one of only five nominees in the School/University category, selected from tens of thousands that were submitted.
As a Webby Award nominee, the University is also eligible to win a Webby "People's Voice Award," which is voted online by the global Web community. Voting closed on April 26.
The winners of both the Webby and People's Voice awards will be announced on May 1 and honored at the 16th Annual Webby Awards ceremony on May 21 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.
Chosen by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), a global organization of industry experts and technology innovaters, recognition by the Webby Award puts you in the esteemed group of industry leaders such as Twitter, Google, eBay, Yahoo!, iTunes, Skype, FedEx, BBC News, CNN, The Guardian, The New York Times, Aol, Tumblr, Wikipedia, ESPN, Funny or Die, Comedy Central, PBS, The Huffington Post, the Sundance Channel, and The Onion.
