Work by UArts Students Selected for Society of Illustrators' Scholarship Competition

Nine Illustration juniors and seniors will have their original art displayed at the Museum of American Illustration May 9 - June 2

The Society of Illustrators' annual Student Scholarship Competition selected nine University of the Arts student illustrators as finalists in its annual nationwide exhibition and competition.

Illustration majors Elizabeth Bobzin '12, David Curtis '13, Sophia Ellen Duda '12, Andy Hood '12, Holly Maguire '12, Kayla Miller '13, Samantha Schechter '13, John Thomas '12 and Gregory Wright '13 will have their original artworks on display at the Museum of American Illustration in New York from May 9 through June 2.

Only 253 works were chosen from over 8,000 entries from nearly 90 colleges by a jury of professional illustrators and art directors. The winners will be announced at an opening reception on May 18.

The Society of Illustrators has held the Student Scholarship Competition every year since 1981. Pieces are accepted based on the quality of technique, concept and skill of medium used.
