One-day show highlights the work of 24 emerging artists
April 28, 2010
The Crafts program in the College of Art and Design at the University of the Arts is hosting the one-day senior thesis exhibition "In the Moment, Over Time" Friday, April 30 from 5 – 7 p.m. in the University's Solmssen Court in Hamilton Hall (320 S. Broad Street).
Highlighting the progressive treatment of traditional methods of making, the exhibition features ceramic, fibers, glass, metal and woodwork by 24 emerging artists. "In the Moment, Over Time" is a show that unifies different mediums and perspectives by calling attention to their shared commitments to materiality and process.
The University's Crafts program explores and embraces the fractured identity of the post-Industrial Craft movement. In doing so, its graduates' works are functional and sculptural, practical and formal, traditional and experimental.
