University of the Arts Announces New Dining Services Program
Leading food service provider Parkhurst to offer comprehensive and flexible meal plan options to campus community
March 31, 2011
Starting this fall, the University of the Arts will introduce a new dining services program to our campus community. This new program is being offered through a partnership with Parkhurst Dining Services, a leader in providing award-winning food service management to colleges, universities, businesses and other venues.
A variety of meal plans will be available to all students. Those who live on campus will be automatically enrolled in the 19-meals-per-week plan.
The University's dining services program will feature three newly renovated locations: Terra Dining Hall (Terra Hall), the primary campus dining facility offering an "all-you-care-to-eat" menu with a broad range of culinary options served at eight themed stations; Mangia (Hamilton Hall), an authentic Italian-style pizza shop featuring eat-in or take-out counter service for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night; and The Mezz (Anderson Hall), specializing in quick-serve meals, with many healthy, ready-to-eat or pre-cooked and reheatable food options.
Along with offering "on the go" options to accommodate students' busy schedules, each location will feature a wide variety of fresh alternatives to meet many dietary needs, including vegetarian and vegan, organic, high-protein, even Atkins and South Beach.
Understanding that students work well past typical business hours, late-night dining will be available until 10:30 p.m. on weekdays. The new program is designed so parents can feel confident that their children are eating well while away from home and to help students keep pace with their ever-changing schedules, nutritional needs and food preferences.
